Author and publisher Gregory S. Walter is collecting histories and stories as well as soliciting suggestions for inclusion. “After 7,000 years of mostly male involvement with grapes and wine, in the last generation we’ve seen enormous contributions and participation by women in the fields of viticulture, enology, management, sales, marketing, academia, the media and public relations,” Walter said. “We think that this book will be a great monument to these female leaders and a spur to everyone interested in wine and the wine business. It’ll also be a collection of some really great stories.” Joining Walter on the publishing team for this project are veteran wine industry consultant Harvey Posert and wine and entertainment publicist Lisa A. Walter. “100 Women In Wine: Journeys And Inspiration In Wine And Life” will be published in hardcover, run approximately 350 pages with color illustrations and be available on publication at a cover price of $39.95. Women in any aspect of the wine industry who have made a significant contribution to the field are being sought for consideration for the project.
